Hi there, I'm Beth and I am The Cracked Pot! We all have those days where we feel a little crazy or cracked, so I hope when you visit my shop that you are able to relax and enjoy your tea experience. Here is a little bit about me and why I do what I do.
Looking back, like many little girls growing up, I had tea parties with my imaginary friends. Rather than simply pretending I had tea, my tea parties featured hot water with the "spices" from granola bars! Luckily for everyone, I've moved far from the days of using granola, but my interest in tea has been with me all my life.
Quality tea can be an amazing thing, and I distinctly remember the first time I ever had the pleasure of tasting it. My mother would take my sisters and I to a specialty store for their seasonal open house events, where they would always serve fresh tea and cookies that immediately brought smiles to our faces. They had a wonderful cinnamon tea that we always left the shop with. Black cinnamon tea still makes me happy today, especially while I’m indulging in an exhilarating historical fiction novel (I’m sort of a junkie).
After 15 years of working at distribution centers that consisted of 10+ hour shifts that caused extreme physical and mental stress, not to mention missing numerous holidays and other family events, I realized I wasn’t truly enjoying everything my life had to offer. Life isn’t perfect but we have to make the most from what we’re given, and my passion for tea was that. I have always loved people, and I wanted to also love my job, which is why I decided to finally open up my tea shop.
To this day, that joy that was brought to me as a child will always be my goal for The Cracked Pot’s Tea Shop. Life can make us feeling cracked, but my hope is that each and every cup of my tea brings a little extra piece of happiness for my customers.
